These books are made by hand to your specifications to accommodate your tastes and art style. After ordering, I will contact you to ask if you have a preference in thread color. If you do not have a preference, I’ll use white. Please keep in mind that it will take between 4-6 weeks to ship your book.
Paper options:
1) Smooth Drawing Paper- Bright White Mohawk Superfine. This paper is excellent for pencil, pen and marker drawings. Its smooth surface holds very fine lines and detail. Not recommended for paint or watercolor.
2) Thin Watercolor Paper- Buff Rives Lightweight. This paper is 100% cotton. It has a fine tooth and slightly aged tone. This paper is ideal for most mediums from pencil to watercolor to very thin acrylic paint. Some pens and markers (such as sharpie) may bleed.
3) Thick Watercolor Paper- Hahnemuhle Copperplate. This paper is 100% cotton. It has a medium tooth. It is great for heavier mediums like acrylic paint, paint marker and sharpie. It is not recommended for delicate art-making styles. Due to the weight of this paper, any book made with this paper will contain less pages.
Binding options:
1) Coptic stitch: This style of binding will lie completely flat, making it great for extended drawing or writing sessions.
2) Hardcover: This binding includes a spine for extra protection and a more conventional look.
3) Secret Belgian Binding: The spine on this binding is sewn on which allows the front cover to flip open to display the first page.
