Lucifer of Liège stickers

from $5.00

Size: 2 in by 1 in

These matte vinyl stickers feature imagery from original watercolor paintings. The subject of these paintings are statues L’ange du Mal (in blue) and Le Génie du Mal (in red)

These statues were both displayed in the pulpit of the St. Paul’s cathedral in Liege. L’ange Du Mal was the first to be put on display, but was quickly taken down due to concerns that its beauty was distracting to female parishioners. The sculptor’s older brother was then hired to make a more suitable depiction of the devil for this cathedral. The result was Le Génie du Mal which is, in my opinion, no less attractive and just more moody about it.

Stickers can be bought as a pair or individually.
